Today is my last day in Tenerife. My work placement is over but I learned a lot about this experience. I met nice people at work who showed me different massage techniques, diversity of products they are using it on their clients. Also I had the opportunity to discover new places and food in Tenerife. The people from this island are so nice and friendly. I had a plenty of time for sunbathing, and eating healthy food, the days were flying, I would love to have more time to continue enjoying this experience but, I'm leaving with a great feeling after it all. I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who make possible to have this opportunity to do our work experience to abroad. -Catalina Aymerich

I was working Monday and Tuesday in the spa Monday was a busy enough day I had about 4 treatments and Tuesday was really quiet, I had Wednesday and Thursday off which was great because Sarah Leanne and Marcelina were off too so we all made plans together on Wednesday we went to Loro Parque which was beautiful, we say saw an orca whale show dolphin and sea lion show and well as many more animals it was a long day but great fun and Thursday we went to La Gomara another island near Tenerife we had to get a 45 minutes ferry when we got there we were shown all the beautiful sights and old volcano ruins this day also was so long with all the travelling too. I was back to work on Friday it was a busy day but I’m not complaining as I was really bored the previous week so now the day goes much faster it is the Easter weekend so hopefully it gets busier and the day will be able to go much faster. I am having an amazing time over here and will definitely return -Daisy Rodriguez The spa didn't get much busier over the coming weeks but the people working there were lovely. I got to do a manicure and pedicure one day so that was a nice change. I also got to do a massage for sciatica which I never did before. On our days off we went to Loro Parque which is home to killer whales, dolphins and sea lions. It was in the north of the island so it was nice to see the scenery on the way there and to see another part of the island. We also did jet skiing and snorkelling which was fun. We explored more of the island in the evenings and got to know the place pretty well. We went to a Spanish restaurant and tried octopus, garlic soup, gazpacho and fried squid which was interesting. We also had paella one day too. It was nice to eat authentic Spanish food. We got to know some of the other girls pretty well and we all ate together and explored the island daily.
-Sarah Mary Dunne We arrived in Tenerife on Saturday night. Once we arrived myself and Daisy went for food and familiarised ourselves with our surroundings. The next day we went to the beach, did some water sports and got to know the other girls in the group. Monday was my first day in work experience. The hotel I am working in is called La Siesta. I am working with Isaura and Tana. The moment I got there I did a full body massage then a while later I met the manager and I did one more massage and a facial. It’s been very quiet in the hotel since I got here so hopefully it gets busier over the next few weeks. In the following days there were only two or three massages a day. On our days off we went parasailing and we visited Siam Park. The weather has been really nice since we got here so it’s nice to explore the island in the evenings. -Sarah Dunne I arrived in Tenerife Saturday the 6th of April I arrived to our apartment, I am sharing with Sarah. That evening Sarah and I went for dinner and explored the area where we are staying and the next day we did some water sports and chilled by the pool. On Monday I started my first day at work in the Spa at Hotel Gala a little nervous but excited as I didn’t know what to expect on my first day I didn’t do a lot of work as it is very quiet I got to do a pedicure on one of the managers on my second day I met another girl who is on Eramus from Sligo she is doing hairdressing we have been practicing our treatments together and there isn’t a lot of treatments booked in but I got to give the other therapist treatments. I had the weekend off on Saturday I went to the capital of Tenerife Santa Cruz with Cati and Emilija we spent the day shopping and having fun. -Daisy Rodriguez Sunday- I am so glad to start the Erasmus experience in Tenerife. Its Sunday with a warm sun, great to charge batteries to start on Monday in our workplace.
I am happy to share the bedroom with my classmate Emilija. I am looking forward to start working in a real working palace and learn a lot from them. Take a lot of sun and eat good food. Visit as many places as I can in Tenerife. Just right now I am in Caleta de Aleje, is a beautiful place. I would like to say a big thank you for all the people are organised this trip, making everything easy and enjoyable -Catalina Aymerich |
