My name is Daila and this is my second weekly written vlog from my Erasmus+ experience. This week was absolutely nice mostly because of weather, Nice restaurants and a lot of attractive shopping centres. This week I decided to do more exploring and taste international cooking. I was on the beach couple of times.
My working time of the week was also great. I met a lot of people not only from Spain. This week was extremely busy. Majority of people who were coming to the reception were people who came from Spanish speaking countries, because of that I improved my Spanish vocabulary and grammar. At my second week I was able to do my work more comfortably. That’s all for this week.

On my second week the weather is still perfect, no rain since 4th of April (when I was still in Ireland).I was able to understand basic Spanish and could able communicate with my co-workers with it, But I’m still using English and sign language to communicate with, I’m learning and so far it’s going good. People at my work placement are nice and good at what they do. The public transport here is also very good. It cost me €1.45 in one way and it take the bus to take me to my work placement in around 18 min. This week I only worked 3 days because of Easter Holiday. Next week I’m going to work extra hours to do those 15 days of work
The only thing I did different was I set up a sound system to the speaker and I connected E-mails to the Database system, rest was to set up PC for the customers, that what I did for the whole week. -Dawid Wejman I am a very happy person to be part of the Erasmus + for 3 weeks in Tenerife. This is an amazing opportunity with indescribable landscape and other fascinating things. We left on the 6th of April and we arrived in Tenerife at night. During the journey I kept overthinking of how I am going to settle and what I am going to do on the first day. I met my room mates for the first time in the airport and they are better than I expected, lovely people. Once we arrived at the airport, we got collected by a bus and brought to our apartments. When we arrived at the apartments, we were given the keys and instructions such as bus routes to work, shops etc. We didn’t do much after that until the next day…. I was glad to hear that I am working with our host Tenerife Job Training. On my first day of work I was shown the route to work and the main principles of the company, basically what are their duties etc. On my first day of work I was welcomed nice and I started with scanning other students documents and put their documentation in order. After finishing a few tasks, I was given a cash flow which made me happy to do it because I study a business course so for me it was like giving me a chance to see what I have learned throughout the year. While doing all these tasks the only difficulty was the language but not in most cases because I am fluent in Romanian, so some Spanish has similar words to Romanian. I was happy the system was in Spanish because this motivated me more to learn this language so that I would make everything easier for myself. I am really enjoying work and the staff are lovely. I will explore more in the next few days around the island and I will definitely take part of some cultural activities…. -David Stoica My name is Daila and I’m doing my Erasmus+ work experience in Tenerife Island, Spain. The weather here is lovely, opposite from the one in Ireland or the other I have been. There are also a lot of places to visit on this Island. The prices of majority of products in Tenerife are also Cheap.
I’m doing my Work experience in Hotel Playa Real. It’s lovely place, lovely people. At my first day I met my boss who told me everything about my duties in this Hotel, told me what should I expect and what, what to do or not to do, that type of things. My work is based on Welcoming people into Hotel and saying bye where they are leaving the Hotel, if guest don’t know anything about that hotel my another job is to make sure that he is informed correctly and happy to stay in this Hotel. -Daila Jaunozola I’m so glad I got opportunity to start Erasmus+ experience in Tenerife Island. We came to Tenerife Island on 6th of April (Saturday).
On that day we got as a group into our apartments and have been divided into smaller groups and we all got our information about our future work placements . The weather in tenerife is just perfect and without rain. On the next the 7th of April (Sunday) I ‘ve had to prepare for upcoming weeks like shopping or finding information about my own work placement. I was at that time very stressed out because at that time I didn’t know what I supposed to do and what I can expect from that work placement. From the Information that I found on the internet, at the start I have to admit that their website is in Spanish and I could not get much from it but from the pictures I could judge that they are mostly customer and sell service company around Spain and the world. On 8th of April(Monday) I was that stressed that I slept only 5 hours. In the morning as a first day of new work placement at 8:30 I went just outside of the front gate to meet a lovely lady which her name is Marvi who was at that time travel agent. She showed me how the public transport works and how to get into my work placement(GoWeb). The first day was hard I had a meeting with my boss and my supervisor about my hours of work and what are my abilities,I’ve also learned how their database system works. At my Second day(9th of April) I’ve had to prepare new PC for the client and I got quite a lot of PC’s to take apart and to get important pieces from each of them, that work took me only 2 not full days. from that day I learned that I was able set up PC in Spanish. At my third day(10th of April) I was finishing my previous work, which was to take apart important things from each PC’s. From that day I learned that I need to look carefully to detect screws. From all of that experience so far,my biggest challenge is knowledge in understanding Spanish. -Dawid Wejman |
